WIND TURBINE FOUNDATION GROUTING
Specialist Wind Turbine Foundation Services
GCE supports OEMs, developers, asset owners and major civil engineering contractors with technically demanding wind turbine foundation works. From grouting and Load Distribution Flange installation to sealing/ waterproofing, testing and documentation, the focus is on getting the work right first time.
SPECIALIST DELIVERY
Why it matters
Wind turbine foundation works are a relatively small part of the overall build, but poor execution can create significant consequences later. Programme delays, failed materials, water ingress, foundation defects and costly remediation can all affect the wider project and long-term performance of the asset. GCE gets involved early to understand the requirements, identify risks and plan the work around the realities of the site and wider construction programme.
-
From precision surveying and Load Distribution Flange (LDF) installation through to structural grouting, testing and quality assurance, GCE provides an integrated service that supports highly accurate load transfer, second-to-none structural integrity and long-term foundation performance.
-
Precision installation and alignment of Load Distribution Flanges (LDFs) for wind turbine foundations, ensuring accurate load transfer between the tower and foundation structure. Our experienced team uses specialist surveying, grouting equipment and quality control procedures to meet demanding installation tolerances and project specifications.
-
GCE delivers specialist sealing and waterproofing solutions for wind turbine foundations, protecting critical structural components from water ingress and environmental exposure.
Our approach includes thorough foundation inspections, careful surface preparation and the application of suitable waterproofing systems, supported by quality checks to ensure effective sealing and long-term foundation integrity.
-
Foundation grouting is not complete simply because the material has been installed. GCE carries out quality checks during and after execution, including field testing of mixed grout and strength testing of hardened grout cubes. For sealing works, checks can include climatic conditions and pull-off testing of the foundation surface and an inspection of the foundation status before sealing to remedy any issues with the wider foundation before sealing.
The objective is documented evidence that the agreed process has been followed and the work completed to the highest standard.
-
Before mobilisation, GCE considers the drawings, specifications, site conditions, programme, equipment, sequencing, materials and quality requirements. Where useful, the team can also contribute to methodology, procurement and practical site decisions that affect delivery.
The aim is to arrive with the scope understood, the methodology thought through and the people and equipment ready to execute.
-
Our team works with clients and specialist material suppliers to select appropriate installation methods and ensure materials are applied in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer guidance and quality requirements.
Self-contained equipment and qualified site leadership
GCE operates bespoke grout trucks carrying mixing pumping equipment, materials, water, power and testing equipment to reduce site dependency. On-site work is supported by highly trained supervisors and technicians, combining practical grouting expertise with recognised UK training qualifications.
