SPECIALlST ONSHORE & OFFSHORE PROJECTS
Specialist Grouting Solutions for Complex Projects across Energy, Marine and Civil Infrastructure.
GCE supports technically challenging and high-risk infrastructure works where conventional approaches may not be suitable, and where materials, methodology and installation need to be developed around specific project requirements.
From offshore ground treatment and tunnel infill to pipeline decommissioning and bespoke grouting applications, we work with clients from early feasibility and technical planning through to specialist execution, testing and reporting.
SPECIALIST GROUTING & INFRASTRUCTURE SOLUTIONS
Our capabilities include:
Offshore and marine grouting
Specialist grouting and ground treatment for challenging marine environments.Void filling and tunnel infill
Controlled grouting of redundant tunnels, shafts and infrastructure voids.Pipeline decommissioning
Grout infill and associated works for redundant pipelines and ducts.Bespoke grout development
Working with material suppliers to develop mixes suited to specific performance and installation requirements.Technical feasibility and methodology
Supporting project planning, material selection, installation procedures and testing.
VOID FILLING & DECOMMISSIONING
GCE provides specialist grout infill solutions for redundant tunnels, pipelines and infrastructure voids, with materials and installation methods developed around the requirements of each project. Our team considers void geometry, access, pumping distances, ground and water conditions, containment and material performance to establish appropriate grout mixes and installation procedures.
Working with material suppliers, we can develop and test bespoke grout blends, including lower-carbon options where suitable, while planning the mixing, pumping and placement operations required for controlled delivery. Applications include tunnel and shaft infill, pipeline and duct decommissioning, annular gap filling and voids within or beneath civil and marine structures.
KEY PROJECT EXPERIENCE
-

Hinkley Point C: Offshore Ground Treatment
GCE supported specialist ground treatment works associated with the Fish Return System Tunnel at Hinkley Point C.
The project required grout installation to create an impermeable barrier within a temporary offshore island ahead of tunnel boring operations.
GCE contributed to technical planning and carried out a full-scale onshore mock-up to test the methodology before supporting offshore execution.
-

Teesside Tunnel No. 1: Void Filling & Decommissioning
GCE delivered tunnel infill, pipeline decommissioning and capping works at Teesside Tunnel No. 1.
Working with material partner Cebo, the team developed a low-strength, lower-carbon grout blend suited to the project's requirements.
With approximately two weeks to mobilise, GCE established operations and delivered works around the clock for five weeks, completing the project ahead of programme.
